Effectiveness of Structured Teaching Programme on Knowledge of Mothers of Under-five Children regarding Management of Febrile Convulsions at Selected Wards of SKIMS, Soura, Srinagar

Background: Febrile convulsion is one of the most common paediatric problems worldwide; it can be frightening, emotionally traumatic and anxiety provoking for parents, particularly mothers, which may lead to mis management. Objectives: To assess pre-test post-test knowledge mothers under-five children, evaluate effectiveness structured teaching programme on find association their scores regarding management febrile convulsions with selected demographic variables. Methodology: A quantitative research approach pre-experimental one-group design was used in this study conducted 50 at SKIMS, Soura, Srinagar. The assessment done by using a self-structured interview schedule. Results: showed that 88% respondents had inadequate knowledge, 12% moderate none adequate knowledge. Post-test 78% 22% mean score subjects significantly higher than 0.05 level significance. There non-significant Conclusion: Majority indicates they need gain awareness about convulsions. An increase participants seen after administration programme.
